It has been a month (I wrote stuff earlier but went live on 01/04) since I claimed my space on the internets.

Happy 1 month indigoandviolet.
Let’s see you give me another 11 active months – then I would call you a small success.

There is a lot to blogging than just saying random things, venting in rambling rants or being ordinarily funny. These were some of the things that slapped me in welcome:

I am paranoid. I haven’t put up identifiable details or pictures on indigoandviolet because I believe that the CIA is out there, listening, watching and waiting to water-board me and I hate getting my hair wet.
There is a whole lot about SEO and Keywords and such. I am still figuring out (this knowledge is being thrust on me by the blog host and google) this new bit of rocket science. I am not in a hurry neither am I going to attempt optimization (*looking at weebly and google*). indigoandviolet is not about a large readership. I am here because of a lot of things . Along the way if I manage to make a few folks smile or be helpful or inspire someone to think ‘What a loada cr@p, I can do so much better.’, then I’d be thrilled. Eventually I shall consider world dominance and mind control.

Always worry about what you say:
This was posted around Christmas on some of my friend's facebook:
To All My LIBERAL Democrat Friends:
Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2012, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great. Not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country nor the only America in the Western Hemisphere. Also, this wish is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wishee.

To My Conservative Republican Friends:
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Yes, our sensitivities are so irritable that anything can cause outrage of unimaginable proportions. Bill Maher sums it up succinctly in his 'Please Stop Apologizing' opinion column.

Who doesn’t blog? Along with blogging, I now try to read a lot of blogs as well. And d@mn, the number of blogs out there are mind boggling. Endless with every possible name – ramblings of various moms, fashion gurus, mommies with an axe to grind, mommies who sell said axes, creative mommies, destructive mommies, out of the world mommies, TMI mommies, dogs, cats, snakes, daddies, comedians, every store, GOMI, – I just can’t keep up. I love seeing the names of all these blogs and how they came about but I do not want to know how eating pumpkin seeds can make your poop go black.

I know what you did last summer. Sometimes too much information is just scary. I know the full names of atleast 5 mommies with small kids at home. I also happen to know their address with relative accuracy and a picture of their house. I know the names of their children. This alone scares me. I do not want online strangers knowing my name, the names of my children or where I live. Ofcourse, they are welcome to details of my married life, parenthood and each of my likes and dislikes but don't say my name! And to mommies whose names I know, I won't come knocking at your door - I hate driving that far out.
Yes, this is a new reality!

Beg but do not borrow or steal: Yes, get your own pictures or make them or just draw pictures with words. With your own words. Do not borrow or steal pictures, if caught - you could be penalized pretty steeply. I have take a few pictures (from Wiki and free sites. I think I have one or two that are borrowed - I live on the edge daily!) that are not mine on indigoandviolet. I have read that a lot of people had their a$$es handed to them for that. I hate my big a$$, pls don't hand it to me.
Come out of the shadows: Of the 200 readers (yes, the stats are available) I got yesterday, I got just 6 comments. I do not comment on every single blog I visit but  sometimes I would like to know who is coming knocking here. Recently I met some folks at a social thing and many told me that they follow my posts. I just didn't know. And then that minute, I thought 'Oh gosh, did I say anything on here that is making them judge me, my marriage, my kids, my language.. Ooo, they are serving cupcakes'.
In English folks, English: Da # 'f ppl hu rite like dis R huge. SRsly, folks. Der's NO merit in tlkin like dis. It's weird. Plain weird. Y boder writin?
Your = belongs to you. You're = You are. Dis is wot hppens wen u tlk like dis & u 4get wich is wich or wot is wot. Dis speak is rite ^ der wit men hu wear their pants real lo & sho their undies.

So thanks for reading, inspiring, commenting, not commenting, liking, lurking, sharing, not liking, using my affiliate links, learning, correcting typos, posing, not posing (yes, you lil O), motivating ... just thank you! My learning continues...
Little did Juliet know when she passionately asked,

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet."
~ Shakespeare

...that she was going to fuel so much soul searching to christen, to name, to create identity.

Why indigoandviolet

When everything is this world is either Black or White and then those shades of gray, I want to paint everything to all the colors of the rainbow. Yet, a few colors shine stronger for me than the rest. And I mean this not literally.

Indigo: picture from wiki
Violet: picture from google images
Violet doesn't have the notion of danger or blind passion of Red but neither does it have the notion of doom and darkness of Black and Gray. It doesn't suggest as much royalty and exclusivity of Purple yet is rich and true.
Indigo is not the moody Blues neither is it the peace inducing Greens. While it doesn't shine like Yellow or glow like Orange, it is definitely deep and mysterious.

Indigo symbolizes intuition and spirituality. Violet symbolizes luxury, modesty and extravagance.

I picked indigoandviolet to represent me because of all of the above and for every shade between indigoandviolet. It does have a certain ring to it!
