Every once in a while, if the questions are fun, I link up with A Complete Waste of Make Up and do the Sunday Social. Today, I am just going to let pictures do most of the talking. I hope my friends do not mind these pictures being up. If you do, please mail me at helloindigoandviolet@gmail.com and I will bring it down.
If you are mailing me to ask to remove pictures of me because it is just that horrendous - Tough Luck Kiddo!

(Not everyone is going to 'get' this post and click on all the pictures to get a better view!)

1. Biggest Middle school fashion mistake. (Why stop at one...let it all tumble out!)
2. Who were your best friends in High School? Pictures?
These were my best friends during those amazing years!

This was our last walk out of school. The LAST WALK. *sniff*

We were the fun-est people around!

I have so many better pics of Mins and me but this defines us better, cow and all.
3. What was a typical weekend like for you in HS?
I don't think I have any pictures of me doing anything during the weekends because mostly I did not do anything during weekends and because who walked around with cameras back then. We just did things and lived in that moment without worrying about clicking it for posterity or Facebooking it to show just how cool you are taking a picture of yourself!

4. Did you have any boyfriends/girlfriends? Tell us about that.
I had plenty of girlfriends and boy, was it fun! All of these amazing ladies have grown into lovely, beautiful and successful women, mothers and professionals. I am missing a few people and I have ransacked every corner and couldn't find a picture.
We fought, we made up, we had each other's back, we cried together, we ate together and we were amazing... all in the middle of an ongoing class!

Out of 30 of these lovely ladies, I talk to atleast 7 of them pretty often!
5. Did you have any secret codes with your friends? Spill your secrets!
Picture
Remember this certain girls of Class XII C?
So let me explain this book. We knew each of us were going to go into whichever colleges we were accepted into and into wherever corners of the world that would mean for us. In order to create memories, we proceeded, in our final year at school, to be the very craziest bunch of people on earth. And in order to record everything we did, we made this book. Yasu, Geet, Bins and I wrote in this book regularly and sometimes we needed pictures because, you know, words weren't enough. It was an awesome year. This book barely captures half of it.

6. If you could relive one day/moment/experience from middle school or high school, what would it be?
I would gladly relive several years of 10A, 11C, 12C and Sunday School... happily, without changing a single thing, no regrets.

Here is one that I still laugh about:
Mins and I were just discovering Mills and Boon back then. So we kept exchanging books back and forth and one time she read this particularly juicy book and wouldn't stop gushing about it. She promised to give it me. My dad went over to her place to pick something up one evening. While she was in her hour long shower, her lil sister actually sent the book with my dad. My dad didn't look at me for the rest of the evening, after handing the book to me...behind my mom's back. He knew she would flip. Sigh!

I do hope everyone from my high school class sees this and comments. You just need to. Seriously. Love.

The times were simple, the laughs were spontaneous, the teeth were buck, the eyebrows thick and the eyes sparkling with curiosity and excitement. Good Old days!
You were quite the singer...do you still sing?

One of my most poignant and favorite memories from school actually involves you Gins.. We were bench mates for at least sometime during the 10th grade and always up to no good. Never taking notes and always trying to read m&b's under the desk and giggling.. My math book was virtually empty as was yours.. One day we were up to no good in Vijay Kumar's class and he catches both of us and walks over to examine both our books. I was relieved that I had some company when I was in trouble but that particular emotion was short lived..Turns out at some point during the previous weekend you had bribed one of your sisters to fill in your notes while mine remained glaringly empty.. VJ went through page after page of nothing and then voila he saw something interesting. And then with triumphant malice he holds it up to the whole class and says this is Diana's algebra. Imagine my horror and mortification when for the first time I saw what it was he was holding up. I had scribbled some gibberish on one of the pages and under it I had drawn this huge blunted W (looked like this UU). I can only take credit for that much of that particular piece of art. You, at some point, had decided to express your creativity and included two bindhi sized dots at the end of each of the U's making it looks like a rather saggy pair of boobs. Everyone burst out laughing and even I couldn't stop an errant smirk from escaping which infuriated VJ and I was send out of class. Needless to say you sat through it all looking doe eyed and completely innocent. This is one of those moment that still laugh about :)

Hahahahaha.. I so remember this and it was hilarious. You forgot why he picked on us. We were doing some crazy crap and I don't know how but your book got tossed at him. Remember? That's how he pulled us up. And yes! I actually had Gito (my sister) update 3 months worth of Math notes just the previous weekend! And sorry, I couldn't help the wide eyed, angelic look... I love bringing drama and completing the cast of 'Rebellious student disrupts class and leads good students astray'.

Another memory that I have is when one particular awkward girl was asked a question by Mrs Murthy, you and I exchanged a eye roll and snicker. And rs Murthy pulled me up. She gave me a whole earful. And I cried because I had to make it out to be a simple smile gone wrong! Gosh! That woman can cuss!

I remember sayin this one should be deleted as didnt want a pic with my braces shown..so glad you still have it..
One of our biggest fashion mistakes were wearing oversized clothes... they wud probably still fit us, (tho we would never wana be caught wearin em)!

Linu, your laugh was priceless... I'd actually wait for that little chuckle from the bench behind me (that had Mable and you) for any joke, that's what would trigger all of us to also laugh! :-)

I would luv to go back to those days!!! The short breaks between each period were utilized to the maximum to let out all the pent up laughter abt some funny thing or the other that happened with the previous teacher, but for which we couldnt laugh out loud during the class.

Great times, great memories.... When Diana mentioned the whole episode with VJ, it reminds me of 8th and 9th,,,can't remember which one exactly, that during every PTA meeting, the teachers would bring up their concern to my Dad that I was 'in bad company' and that ' it would not be a good thing for my future'. My dad would turn to me quizzically wondering what they were talking about, coz there seemed to be no signs or symptoms of me turning 'bad' bcoz of ANY company. The teachers were concerned about Jens being my partner in class, and they could very well tell we loved each others company. They just couldn't figure out how the queen of the nerds was suchhhhh good friends with the queen of the style icons of the century. Bah, seriously, if it weren't for my good and 'bad' company, I know I would need therapy to get through my bad times back then. Thank Heavens for Bad Company!!!!!

Heh Heh...
Mrs Gill: 'Mr George, 10th A is an infamous class today'.
Dad: 'Ahhh very good.'
Me: 'Dad, infamous is opposite of famous'.
Dad: 'Oh'
Mrs Gill: 'And your daughter is one of the most notorious girls causing this.'
Dad: 'What are you a criminal'? to me.
Dad: 'Use simpler words...she is only 16...People will get scared'.

KickA$$ to Mrs Gill and later a$$ kicked at home.

Ok Mrs Gill... there are no 'fingers of your toes'. Seriously!

Really Anju? At the PTA meetings the teachers would tell my parents that I am keeping bad company and would tell me that I should look at Anju and how she keeps good company. I think it was Mrs. Nikita who even went as far as to suggest to my folks that they should convince me to hang out with you and your friends

Guddi! OMG, everything you are saying here brings back so many memories! That mirror... that's the first thing I would set up when we start class. That was crazy! Remember the time when we were eating Diwali sweets in Chacko's class and he stopped and said, 'Put away all yourrr Foodd. Eef I don't say anythingg now, you will start bursting fire crackers in class next'. OMG, I dont think I laughed so hard.
Another time when we talking like nuts and he got so pissed off and said, 'You don't know the taste of my tongue'. And since we all started laughing, he started blushing! Gosh, he totally drove him nuts.
I miss you tons Geetu...esp after I read through several pages of that book... you are a sweetheart. It's so funny - that book.
